WHAT IS BAPTISM?
In Matthew 28, Jesus instructs his followers to "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
At North Church, we celebrate the tradition of baptism as an outward expression of an inward decision. In other words, Baptism is a public declaration of your faith—a step of obedience in your walk with Jesus that invites his blessings into your life.
If this is your next step, we'd love to celebrate with you at an upcoming baptism.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
A life-changing experience! Our baptisms will be integrated into our regular 10:30 service at Orange Middle School, and will take place indoors in a heated baptismal. We will invite you, along with any guests of your choosing, to to the stage where you will be baptized by our pastoral staff.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR & BRING?
We encourage those who are being baptized to bring a towel, and to wear a dark (preferably black) t-shirt and pair of shorts. Because our baptisms will be taking place in the middle of our service, we also encourage you to bring a dry change of clothes to enjoy the remainder of the service in. Our ushers will gladly escort you to changing facilities directly after you are baptized.
WHAT IS A BAPTISM CLASS?
Once you make the decision to be baptized, we will communicate information to you about a North Church Baptism Class prior to Baptism Sunday. During this time, our team will walk through the significance of the baptism process as well as day-of logistics and give you a "Every Story Matters" shirt for your baptism.
